British Immigration – United Kingdom (UK) Visa
The United Kingdom is a very small country in size, but it’s very high on the list as far as immigrants are concerned. People from all over the world flock to the tiny island (some say it’s in danger of sinking) looking for work and dreaming of starting a new life (with benefits), so what exactly is involved in British immigration and obtaining a UK Visa. Why do so many people see the UK as an attractive immigration option? Just what are the people hoping to achieve as they play “all pile on” with Britain . . . they’re running out of space you know. It’s fair to say that British immigration has been out of hand for the past few decades with the Government and border control agencies admitting that they actually don’t know how many immigrants there are living in Britain “under the radar”! It’s a lucky thing that lots of Brits have decided to move out to warmer climes and make a little extra space.
British Immigration – In Search Of . . .
- Welfare. It might be a little unkind to put this at the top of the list, but the welfare system in the UK comes in very useful for those who fall on hard times.
- Health. Free healthcare, got to be worth the move don’t you think.
- Education. The UK has world famous universities and plenty of free state schools offering excellent education opportunities.
- Employment. Employment is getting difficult to find all over the world these days, but UK workers in general have a shorter working week than in many places, with generous benefits, public holidays, maternity schemes etc.
British Immigration
Right, we’ve looked at why lots of people find British immigration an attractive proposition (it’s certainly not the weather is it), so how do they go about getting their hands on a United Kingdom (UK) visa? It is getting more difficult and expensive to obtain British immigration, potential candidates face lots more questions than they did in the past, there are fewer opportunities available for those interested in British immigration.
The UK visa system is divided into 5 tiers, depending on the whys and wherefores of your British immigration application.
- Tier 1 UK Visa – For highly skilled migrants. In order to qualify for a tier 1 UK Visa you will be assessed on a point scoring system based on your education.
- Tier 2 UK Visa – For workers with medium to high skills. In order to qualify for a tier 2 UK Visa you will need to have an offer of employment, confirmed, with a British company.
- Tier 3 UK Visa – is currently suspended. It was originally meant for low skilled workers who wanted to enter the UK but hasn’t been needed due to the number of low skilled workers from the European Economic Area who choose to live and work in Britain.
- Tier 4 UK Visa – is for students who wish to study at University in Britain. These UK visas can only be issued if the applicant is already sponsored by a University or other educational institution, and the visa will only cover the applicant for the duration of the educational course.
- Tier 5 UK Visa – is a temporary working visa for young people aged between 18 – 30 years old. It’s great for young people who fancy taking an extended working holiday in Britain.
